Right now, consumers are driving two seemingly opposing trends: Accenture calls the first trend ‘From Me to We.’ As people grasp the importance of sustainable living, they are shifting from a purely selfish focus (give me what I want) towards actively pushing brands to become more responsible for their global footprint and the health of our planet (support the ideals we believe in).1

A significant paradigm shift occurred in the last few years. Much like other technological shifts of
the last decade — when cloud computing changed the way we do business, agile changed the way
we develop software and Amazon changed the way we shop — Zero Trust presents us with a new
paradigm in how we secure our organizations, our data and our employees.

extraordinarily high-profile, damaging breaches are no longer extraordinary. In just the last
18 months, Yahoo, Accenture, HBO, Verizon, Uber, Equifax, Deloitte, the U.S. SEC, the RNC,
the DNC, the OPM, HP, Oracle and a profusion of attacks aimed at the SMB market have all
proven that every organization — public or private — is susceptible.
The epiphany behind the paradigm shift is clear: Widely-accepted security approaches based on
bolstering a trusted network do not work. And they never will. Especially when businesses are
dealing with skill
According to Accenture, identifying and influencing these profitability
levers is at the top of most CFO agendas today, as CEOs increasingly look to their finance chiefs for insights on where to invest in new initiatives that can boost top line and bottom line growth.
The use of instant messaging in the energy industry is widespread, with one source estimating that as much as 60% of trading in the physical power markets is conducted using the technology. Moreover, a Microsoft/Accenture survey found that 34% of oil and gas professionals are collaborating more than they were 12 months earlier, while only 10% are collaborating less. While real-time communications, such as instant messaging, are very useful for traders and others in the energy industry, a failure to monitor and retain them along with other electronic communications can result in substantial penalties and other serious consequences.
