If you are working with massive amounts of data, one challenge is how to display results of data exploration and analysis in a way that is not overwhelming. You may need a new way to look at the data – one that collapses and condenses the results in an intuitive fashion but still displays graphs and charts that decision makers are accustomed to seeing. And, in today’s on-the-go society, you may also need to make the results available quickly via mobile devices, and provide users with the ability to easily explore data on their own in real time. SAS® Visual Analytics is a data visualization and business intelligence solution that uses intelligent autocharting to help business analysts and nontechnical users visualize data. It creates the best possible visual based on the data that is selected. The visualizations make it easy to see patterns and trends and identify opportunities for further analysis. With so much of today's commerce being conducted electronically, providing staff with internet access has become a business necessity. The improper use of e-mail and instant messengers can lead to extremely expensive lawsuits, and the proliferation of mobile devices has made it considerably easier for errant employees to steal sensitive information. This white paper will detail the risks to which organizations that do not monitor their employees are exposed and explain the right way for organizations to go about monitoring.

Mobile applications have swept across geographic boundaries, cultures, and enterprises faster than any previous technology innovation. Consumers around the world use them to find their way when they travel by car and verify flight details when they travel by air. They check bank balances and sports scores, reserve theater tickets and dining reservations, shop online, pay bills, download entertainment, and participate in dozens of other everyday activities—using convenient portable devices like smart phones and tablets. The demand for this kind of convenience has spilled over into the world of work as well, and employees today expect to use their mobile devices to check email, participate in meetings, access files—even use enterprise applications, like ERP and CRM, that drive business processes.

Today, large organizations are being buffeted by a host of changes, many of them unexpected or unfamiliar. Business information is virtually exploding in size, kind and locale, taxing the abilities of even the most progressive enterprises to keep up. Mobile technologies and business analytics that were once exclusively used by employees with specialized needs and skills are now common across the entire workforce. As a result of all this, IT is bending under the strain of developing and delivering necessary new services while at the same time maintaining core service quality. This report will consider these issues, as well as IBM’s position in and efforts around developing next generation enterprise systems solutions, including its System z mainframes, POWER7+ processor-based Power Systems servers and System Storage offerings focused on those areas and use cases.

Voice of the customer (VOC) is a market research technique defined as the process of capturing a customer's expectations, preferences and aversions. Ideally, Voice of the Customer analysis produces a detailed set of customer wants and needs that is prioritized by company objectives or strategic goals. What has changed significantly is the volume and number of data sources and channels, inclusive of mobile device, kiosk, POS and tablet that are able to feed into the analysis of contextual VOC information via enabling VOC software, services and technologies.

How effective is your mobile app development process when it comes to understanding customer needs and delivering the right apps at the right time? IBM commissioned Forrester to identify the key drivers of successful mobile apps and the costs of failure -- for both customer-facing and enterprise applications. Watch the webcast to understand the key cost drivers and why it’s more important than ever to get this right due to what Forrester calls the “mobile mind shift” and the competitive reality of “mobile moments.” We also invited our customer, Bank of Montreal, to share their mobile app dev story. A good app can increase traffic, sales, productivity and brand satisfaction (see what happened for the Bank of Montreal). And a bad app will do the opposite (you could risk doubling your costs if you’re not mindful of the key cost drivers).

The rise of the mobile workforce, combined with an increasing risk of litigation, has created a crisis for businesses. When faced with a request for eDiscovery—the production of electronically-stored information (ESI) in the course of a lawsuit or investigation—legal and IT teams must identify and place costly, time-consuming holds on responsive files. These holds apply across devices and repositories, both inside and outside the organization, including SaaS-based cloud applications such as Office 365, Google for Work, and Box. And lest these teams become complacent, saying “It won’t happen here,” it should be noted that in 2014, 34 percent of companies faced at least one lawsuit with more than $20 million at issue.

Security was once largely limited to the confines of an on-premises world, but now it must extend to the cloud, as well as a myriad of mobile devices. Employees and companies now expect increasingly complex interactions with devices, apps, data, and even other users. As many companies struggle to keep up with traditional single-point solutions, and limited budgets, this pressure is creating security blind spots for IT. In a world of evolving threats, it is becoming increasingly impossible to address all of these issues with an on-premises solution. What is needed is a holistic approach to identity-driven security—one that leverages a cloud-scale intelligent security graph to help you protect your business. In this vision whitepaper, we look into some of the challenges facing IT in the modern world and examine the possible solutions.
