Atrius Health Chief Information Security Officer Chris Diguette oversees security for Atrius Health, the largest physician-led healthcare provider in the northeastern US. The organization is recognized nationally for its use of health information technology. Diguette is also CIO of the VNA Care Network, a home healthcare provider and subsidiary of Atrius Health. As CISO, Diguette and his team work to implement and maintain a security infrastructure
that safeguards the organization’s critical health information systems and applications, such as its Epic Systems Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system and the personal data of more than 675,000 patients at 29 facilities in eastern and central Massachusetts.

The current era in cyber security is characterized by three fundamental challenges: the complexity of the enterprise network and connected infrastructure, the speed of newage attacks, and the strain of overwhelmed incident responders.
In many ways, the expansion of networks and continual adoption of new technologies - from cloud services to the Internet of Things - has expanded the attack surface and introduced new entry-points through which attackers can gain a foothold. This, combined with the ready availability of exploit kits on the Dark Web, has led to the ‘vicious circle of the SOC’, where incident responders are so busy fire-fighting that they rarely have time to implement the critical patches that would prevent the problem at source.
As security teams struggle to keep up with the rising volume of routine attacks, a new generation of cyberthreat has also emerged, characterized in large part by fast-moving threats that make an impact well before humans have time to respond. Thes

At its Build conference in May, Microsoft took the wraps off Cosmos DB, the new incarnation of its
existing cloud-based Azure DocumentDB NoSQL database. With a nod to the dramatic, Microsoft
terms Cosmos DB as its biggest database bet since SQL Server; it is positioning it as its flagship
cloud database, suited for use cases ranging from security and fraud detection, to IoT (consumer and
industrial), personalization, e-commerce, gaming, social networks, chats, messaging, bots, oil and gas
recovery and refining, and smart utility grids. Cosmos DB is a good example of how cloud platform
providers are rethinking databases for scalable, elastic environments and commodity infrastructure.
The platform that is most comparable is Google Cloud Spanner, but each of these databases is
engineered for different purposes: Cosmos DB as a globally distributed operational database and
Spanner as a globally distributed SQL-supporting OLTP database.
The highlights of Cosmos DB include its flexibility in

Data integrity and ultra-high performance dictate the success and growth of many companies.
One of these companies is BridgePay Network Solutions, a recently launched and rapidly growing financial services organization that allows merchants around the world to process millions of daily credit card transactions. Due to the nature of their business, their IT team needed to strike the perfect balance between meeting regulatory-mandated data security measures with the lowest possible levels of latency and response times.
As their growth accelerated, BridgePay realized the need to immediately address infrastructure shortcomings and prepare for their future growth.
Download the case study now and see how BridgePay built a competitive advantage and scaled transactions by 500% in the same storage footprint using some of the most advanced and differentiated technology available today.
Today, 84% of IT organizations view automation as a top investment priority for delivering on business outcomes. Explore key priorities and trends based on IDC’s global survey of 164 IT professionals, including the role of automation across “IT silos” and virtualization, cost efficiencies and process standardization, and market maturity. New Belgium Brewing, a Colorado-based craft brewery with origins in the Belgian style of ale making, has grown steadily from a home-based operation to a thriving company with distributors across the western United States. The company was using a Novell-based networking and e-mail system, which it found increasingly challenging to integrate with its business and IT applications from other vendors.
With the advent of iSCSI as the standard for networked storage, businesses can leverage existing skills and network infrastructure to create Ethernet-based SANs that deliver the performance of Fibre Channel—but at a fraction of the cost. iSCSI enables block-level data to be transported between a server and a storage device over an IP network. An iSCSI initiator is hardware or software that runs on a host and initiates I/O to an iSCSI target, which is a storage device (usually, a logical volume) that responds to read/write requests.
Whatever the size of your organization, a business-class network is within your reach. By understanding and taking some simple steps, you can implement a network infrastructure that provides your company with significant and substantive benefits. From empowering your employees to greatly improving customer service, networking technology can have a lasting impact on your business.
