According to many market research analysts, the global wireless access point (WAP) market is anticipated to continue its upward trajectory and to grow at an impressive compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 8% through 2020. Many enterprises are utilizing cloudcomputing technology for cost-cutting purposes, eliminating investments required for storage hardware and other physical infrastructures. With significant growth expected in Internet usage, particularly bandwidth consuming video traffic, WAP vendors need to enable their customers to monitor and improve device performance, improve end user experience, and enhance security. These customers include general enterprises that offer Internet access to patrons like airports, hotels, retail / shopping centers and so on. These external Internet access providers can differentiate themselves by offering optimum service through advanced network analytics, traffic shaping, application control, security capabilities and more.
Thanks to new mobile technologies, work happens everywhere today. It might be responding to email on the morning train or uploading a customer contract during a cross-town cab ride. Your workers need this level of connectivity to compete. At the same time, you likely face unprecedented budgetary challenges.

But it’s impossible to achieve the promises of Lync if you haven’t fully considered the underlying infrastructure. And with laptops, smartphones and tablets on track to outnumber desktops, that means wireless infrastructure. Fortunately, with a little upfront planning, you can dramatically increase the quality and reliability of multimedia over enterprise Wi-Fi. Here are 10 tips for ensuring that Lync runs well on mobile devices in your network…
Given the evolution of past major advances in wireless-LAN technologies, it should come as no surprise that products based on the still-in-development IEEE 802.11ac standard are now appearing across the board, from residence to enterprise. Just as was the case with 802.11g and 802.11n, the standards-development process is now far enough along that the semiconductor community is shipping in volume, the Wi-Fi Alliance has been able to issue an initial interoperability specification, and system-vendor products offering up to 1.3 Gbps are now available at prices very close to those of 802.11n APs but with on the order of a 30% improvement in price/performance on a spectral-efficiency basis and from 100% to more than 200% in performance overall.

For many wireless broadband network operators, the term "unlicensed reliability" is seen as an oxymoron. For many, the idea of building a high-speed network in the unlicensed band isn't a good one. A great deal has been said about crowded frequencies, self-interference and costly network rips. About how microwaving popcorn can cause interference. About disgruntled and perplexed customers. And ex-customers.
As businesses increasingly demand mobile options for employees, Sprint has introduced a service
for wholesale providers called Wholesale Mobile Integration (WMI), which integrates wireless and office telephones on the same phone number.
