The digitalization of business processes and the advent of mobile computing have given rise to the next generation of fraud. Cybercriminals have a variety of tools and techniques—as well as opportunities—to steal money and services. Furthermore, traditional fraud prevention tools often fail to stop this fraudulent activity. Companies need a new approach to fraud prevention—one that stops fraud early and preserves the user experience. Companies with an online presence must have the ability to: Detect and respond to fraudulent activity before incurring losses Leverage human insight and machine learning to identify advanced fraud Work with other fraud analysts to identify larger fraud trends and stop cybercriminals on a global scale Block more fraud while reducing fraud prevention costs This book explores how companies can leverage a next-generation fraud prevention solution to stop more fraud while reducing costs and providing a positive user experience for trusted customers.

It grows every day as we post on social media, interact with chatbots and digital assistants, send emails, conduct business online, generate reports and essentially document our daily thoughts and activities using computers and mobile devices. Increasingly, organizations want to know how all of that data can be used to drive improvements. For many, unstructured text represents a massive untapped data source with great potential for producing valuable insights that could result in significant business transformations or spur incredible social innovation. This paper looks at how organizations in banking, health care and life sciences, manufacturing and government are using SAS text analytics to drive better customer experiences, reduce fraud and improve society.

The Internet has become the one network that every corporate worker uses and that no corporate IT can control. The emergence of cloud, ubiquitous networks, smartphones and smart (or dumb) networked devices are wreaking havoc over the traditional command-and-control IT mode of operation. This shift is different from anything we’ve experienced before, because nobody owns the network.

How Six Companies Innovate with API Management Companies are hungry for ways to innovate in the digital age, and as enterprises have experimented with new technologies, it’s become clear that success requires expanding the reach of digital assets beyond a business’s internal talent. The connected experiences that customers demand occur across a range of channels, and the people building those experiences can be a developer building a mobile app in her garage just as easily as an IT engineer. Businesses need to make their digital assets leverageable to more developers so they can build more digital experiences across more channels, scalably and securely, to engage more customers. In this brief, we explore the diverse ways that innovation leaders have leveraged APIs to transform the way their companies do business. Download this brief to learn more about how to use the power of APIs to open new business channels for your company.

The telecommunications market is highly saturated. In most of the developed world, nearly everyone who wants a mobile phone has one. There are opportunities for carriers to increase service usage or upsell customers on higher-value devices or services, but each new account generally comes at a competitor’s expense—so customer retention is crucial. Telecom service providers need to reduce losses, prevent churn and maximise revenue on their offerings. FICO’s Best Next Action™ technology can be an important tool to achieve all of these objectives, either by presenting new offer terms or cross-selling other products and accessories to enhance the customer’s telecommunications experience—the handset upgrade, better financing terms, insurance on the handset or a subscription service for content. o Prevent account churn o Optimise service utilisation o Segment accounts o Tailor the contact method to the account

Virtualized Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) is a major breakthrough in network function virtualization (NFV). When asked where they have deployed NFV in production networks, communication service providers (CSPs) consistently name vEPC as one of the top answers. Why is that? In order to maximize their processing capacity, CSPs virtualize a subset of their network applications, including mobile edge computing (MEC), base stations (small/macro cells) and the mobile core, because these systems use a large bandwidth. The mobile packet core builds the foundation of the core network on which mobile CSPs offer IP-based services to their customers. Implementing vEPC solutions can help CSPs obtain the scale necessary to accommodate growing numbers of subscribers and large amounts of traffic or connections while controlling costs and improving on quality of experience (QoE). In the past, evolved packet core (EPC) solutions were deployed on purpose-built hardware. NFV enables operators to deploy EPC c

The speed and efficiency of QSRs, which include the emergent “fast casual” restaurants, match today’s on-the-go lifestyle of consumers across all ages who often are too busy to cook at home. That said, consumers expect their dining experience at a QSR to be comfortable with conveniences ranging from WiFi connectivity to ordering kiosks and dining area entertainment on large screens or even tableside tablets. They expect the information on menu boards to be accurate and up-to-date and their meal orders to be fulfilled quickly and accurately. Retail has been transformed by technology in multiple ways, from the way customers interact with retailers to how products are offered and acquired. Indeed, the entire shopping experience has been redefined and expanded to enable customers to purchase products anytime, anywhere, with any device, from any number of retailers. Consumers’ changing shopping behaviors and their reliance on technology enables retailers to reach a wider swath of potential buyers, moving well beyond the borders of their physical store locations to new geographies and populations. That said, retailers must understand how to use technology effectively to draw in customers and entice them to purchase, as well as help them improve their operations and enable new, innovative ways to keep customers coming back.
