As organizations look for more ways to increase productivity and profitability, human resources departments are being asked to provide more strategic input to executives. Doing so requires tools that improve access to timely, accurate information for enhanced business decision making. If you don’t have a human resource management system (HRMS), HR can end up spending too much time on repetitive day-to-day tasks like paperwork while struggling to deliver meaningful workforce insights. The right HR management software can help the HR team increase control over employee data, optimize productivity, and take employee engagement to the next level, so you can deliver the future workforce your organization needs to succeed. This white paper discusses the five areas to keep in mind when evaluating solutions to find an HRMS that’s a good fit for your business.

Although the cost of flash storage solutions continues to fall, on a per-gigabyte capacity basis, it is still significantly more expensive to acquire than traditional hard drives. However, when the cost per gigabyte is examined in terms of TCO, and the customer looks past the pure acquisition cost and accounts for “soft factors” such as prolonging the life of a data center, lower operating costs (for example, power and cooling), increased flexibility and scalability, or the service levels that a flash solution enables, flash solution costs become increasingly competitive with spinning media.

Relational database management systems (RDBMSs) are systems of software that manage databases as structured sets of tables containing rows and columns with references to one another through key values. They include the ability to optimize storage, process transactions, perform queries, and preserve the integrity of data structures. When used with applications, they provide the beating heart of the collection of business functions supported by those applications. They vary considerably in terms of the factors that impact the total cost of running a database application, yet users seldom perform a disciplined procedure to calculate such costs. Most users choose instead to remain with a single vendor's RDBMS and never visit the question of ongoing hardware, software, and staffing fees.

As cloud is becoming an increasingly viable infrastructure choice for enterprise applications, it is essential to select a high-performance cloud service that will support the best possible experience for your end users. Determining the right cloud solution for your needs also necessitates thorough analysis of the level of security, control, customization and support your business requires. In this webcast, thought leaders from Gartner and Internap outline the performance factors that affect your cloud decision-making process and discuss how to optimize your IT Infrastructure to create satisfied end users.
